Safety

Safety is a critical component of any sports program, especially in youth football. Here are our guiding principles:

  1. Player safety is our top priority: We take player safety very seriously. We implement strict safety protocols to ensure that our players are protected from injuries and accidents. This includes providing proper equipment, such as helmets and pads, and training our coaches on proper technique and injury prevention strategies.

  2. Safe environment for everyone: Our commitment to safety extends beyond our players to include coaches, volunteers, and spectators. We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our organization, free from bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.

  3. Education and communication: We believe that education and communication are key to ensuring a safe environment for our players. We provide resources and training to our coaches and parents on concussion recognition, injury prevention, and emergency response. We also encourage open communication between coaches, parents, and players, so that everyone is aware of any potential safety concerns.

  4. Continuous improvement: We are committed to continuously improving our safety protocols and procedures, based on the latest research and best practices. We regularly evaluate our equipment, facilities, and training programs to ensure that we are providing the highest level of safety to our players.

  5. Foster a positive culture: Our culture of safety  helps foster a positive environment where players feel supported and encouraged. This leads to better team dynamics, improved performance, and a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

  6. Role modeling: By prioritizing safety, we help instill positive values in young players. When our coaches and volunteers model safe behavior and prioritize player safety, we are sending a powerful message about the importance of safety and responsibility.

Overall, safety is an essential part of our mission, and we are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for our players to thrive in.

CDC HEADS UP

To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports. The HEADS UP initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion.
